You should prepared monetarily to come and
study or research in Japan. Suggestive amount of the expense is
described above. However, for someone who needs financial helps, the
followings may be helpful, I hope.
Fellowship, Scholarship, Grant
information
- We, almost all the national Universities
in Japan, can't offer you any financial helps for your traveling
and living expenses at this time.
- The grant system in Japan differs from
that in U.S.A., for examle, we, in Japan, get grants from the
"Monbusho (The Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and
Culture)" and can use only for research activities but can't for
personnel payment.
- One of the best ways for you to study in
Japan is that you get the "Monbusho scholarship (Japanese
Government scholarship), approximately 180,000 yen per month" and
then come to Japan. In that case, you are advised to contact with
the Japanese Embassy or such in your country to get information
about the scholarship. You can also apply for your Government
Scholarship.
- You can also apply for the Fellowship of
The International Scientific Exchange Fund of the Japan Dental
Association. The application form may be available from "the
Committee on the International Scientific Exchange Fund, Japan
Dental Association, 3-16 Hayabusa-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102
Japan". I don't think the money from only this fund is enough to
live in Japan.
. Approximately 100,000 - 200,000 yen per month (of course, it
depends on your life stile) are required for living expenses in
Japan, and, in addition, you have to pay tuition and fees
described above.
- Training program under JICA (Japan
International Cooperation Agency). We are not sure whether this is
suitable for you. You may be able to contact with the JICA branch
in your country.
- There are several garants available for
the foreign student, mainly of postgraduate level. However, it may
be quite difficult to obtain the scholarship, I am afraid. We will
not introduce those here.
