Faculty of Dentistry ; Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences

April 1, 1965 Faculty of Dentistry was established.
April 1, 1966 Four departments (Department of Oral Anatomy I, Department of Oral Physiology, Department of Oral Biochemistry, Department of Oral pathology) were formed.
April 1, 1967 Six departments (Department of Oral Anatomy II, Department of Oral Micro- biology, Department of Dental Materials and Technology, Department of Restorative Dentistry, Department of Oral Surgery, Department of Removable Prosthetics) were added.
April 1, 1968 Three departments (Department of Dental Pharmacology, Department of Preventive Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics) were added.
April 4, 1969 Two departments (Department of Endodontics and Periodontics, Department of Fixed Prosthodontics) were added.
April 1, 1972 The Graduate School of Dentistry was established.
March 20, 1973 New buildings were completed for the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Hospital.
April 12, 1973 Department of Oral SurgeryIIwas founded.
April 1, 1976 Faculty of Dentistry School for Dental Technicians was established.
April 1, 1979 Department of Pediatric Dentistry was founded.
April 1, 1980 Department of Oral Radiology was founded.
March 20, 1981 New wings (A&B) were added to the Faculty of Dentistry.
February 10, 1982 New wings were added to the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Hospital.
April 1, 1985 Administration of the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Hospital were merged into the General Affairs Section and the Operative Affairs Section.
April 1, 1997 Department of Geriatric Dentistry was founded.
April 1, 2001 19 departments have been newly incorporated into the following four major courses for: Molecular and Cellular Medicine, Biological Functions and Medical Control, Community Disease Control, and Oral Life Science, to create the Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences.
October 1, 2003 Both the General Affairs and the Operative Affairs Sections were closed with the establishment of the University Medical and Dental Hospital, and then the Educational Affairs Section has been newly established. The Office was renamed Medical and Dental Sciences Dentistry Section.
April 1, 2004 The Office was renamed Medical and Dental Sciences Dentistry Section.
April 1, 2004 Department of Oral Health and Welfare, Faculty of Dentistry was established.
March 31, 2005 The School for Dental Technicians was abolished.
March 31, 2005 The Graduate School of Dentistry was abolished.
April 1, 2006 The Office was renamed Medical and Dental Sciences Educational Affairs Section (Dentistry).
April 1, 2008 The Master’s Program of Oral Health and Welfare Science was established.
April 1, 2009 The Office was renamed Medical and Dental Sciences Faculty of Dentistry Office.
April 1, 2010 The Doctor’s Program of Oral Health and Welfare Science was established.
September 10, 2013 The first phase of the dental building renovation was completed.
May 29, 2014 The second phase of the dental building renovation was completed.
September 29, 2015 The third phase of the dental building renovation was completed.

University Medical and Dental Hospital

June 1, 1967 The University Dental Hospital was established.
June 16, 1967 Three clinical departments (Department of Operative Dentistry, Department of Oral Surgery and Department of Removable Prosthodontics) were formed.
June 30, 1967 New wing for the Outpatient Clinic of the University Dental Hospital was completed (1,363.2 sq.m.).
September 1, 1967 Outpatient Clinic began service.
April 1, 1968 Two clinical departments (Department of Preventive Dentistry and Department of Orthodontics) were added.
April 1, 1969 Two clinical departments (Department of Endodontics and Periodontics, and Department of Fixed Prosthodontics) were added.
March 20, 1973 New buildings were completed for the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Hospital.
April 12, 1973 Clinical Department of Oral Surgery II was added.
June 18, 1973 The Hospital moved into the new building and began service.
October 1, 1979 Clinical Department of Pediatric Dentistry was established.
April 1, 1980 Clinical Department of Oral Radiology was established.
February 10, 1982 New outpatient section and others were completed (3,862 sq.m.).
April 1, 1982 Service began in the new outpatient section.
April 1, 1985 Administration of the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Hospital were merged into the General Affairs Section and the Operative Affairs Section.
May 29, 1989 Clinical Department of Dental Anesthesiology was established.
April 10, 1992 Polyclinic Intensive Oral Care Unit was established.
June 14, 1993 Oral Pathology Section was established.
March 25, 1997 New outpatient section and others were completed (1,997 sq.m.).
April 7, 1997 Service began in new outpatient wing.
April 1, 2001 General Practice Unit was established.
April 1, 2001 Four diagnosis and treatment departments have been newly established: Surgical Care, Oral Health Control, Dental Health and Occlusal Function. The following 11 diagnosis and treatment departments were abolished: Preventive Dentistry Department, Restorative Dentistry Department I, Restorative Dentistry Department II, Oral Surgery I, Oral Surgery II, Prosthetic Dentistry Department I, Prosthetic Dentistry Department II, Orthodontic Department, Pedodontic Department, Radiodontic Department and Dental Anesthetic Department.
October 1, 2003 The University Medical Hospital and the University Dental Hospital were merged into the University Medical and Dental Hospital.
April 1, 2006 Polyclinic Intensive Oral Care Unit was abolished, and then Unit of dyphagia rehabilitation, Temporomandibular Joint Clinic and Oral Implant Clinic were established.
April 23, 2012 New outpatient section and others were completed.
November 26, 2012 Service began in new outpatient wing.
November 26, 2012 Four Clinical departments were reorganized to Oral Surgery, Radiology and Anesthesia, Orthodontics and Pedodontics, Preventive and Conservative Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Oral Function.
