新潟大学歯学部は、2026年2月8日・2月9日の2日間の日程で、マレーシア国民大学歯学部（National University of Malaysia、UKM）との共催により国際シンポジウム「International Collaborative Symposium on Development of Human Resources in Practical Oral Health and Treatment 2026」をマレーシア・クアラルンプールにて開催しました。
The Faculty of Dentistry, Niigata University hosted the “International Collaborative Symposium on Development of Human Resources in Practical Oral Health and Treatment 2026” from February 8 to February 9, 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This symposium was co-hosted by Faculty of Dentistry, The National University of Malaysia,UKM.

このシンポジウムは、口腔保健、歯科医療分野における若手人材育成とアジア地域を中心とした共同研究ネットワーク形成を目的に本学歯学部が開催しているもので、今回で15回目を迎えました。
本学歯学部からは、教職員20名、大学院生27名が参加し、アジア各国からはASEAN諸国、韓国、ネパール、欧州からはルーマニア、中東からはパレスチナからも参加者があり、各大学歯学部長を含め総勢170名以上の研究者が集いました。

2月9日には歯学部長会議を開催し、国際共同研究の展開、学生・若手研究者交流について意見交換が行われ、多くの前向きな提案と本学歯学部への期待の声が寄せられました。

井上誠歯学部長、小川祐司歯学部副学部長（国際交流担当）からは、本学における「未来を先導する世界トップレベル大学院教育拠点創出事業（FLAGs）」の取り組みについても紹介し、各国からの優秀な留学生の獲得に向けた教育研究環境のさらなる充実と国際連携を一層強化していく意向が示されました。
歯学部では、今後も、国際シンポジウムを通じた国際交流を推進していきます。

Now in its 15th session, this symposium aims to nurture young oral health researchers and establish a collaborative research network across the world, especially Asia.
From the Faculty of Dentistry at Niigata University, 20 faculty members and 27 graduate students participated in the symposium. Additionally, over 170 researchers attended from various regions (including deans of dental schools), such as ASEAN countries, Korea, Nepal, Romania and Palestine.

In addition, 29 oral presentations and 49 poster presentations were conducted, with lively discussions and on the final day, outstanding presenters were recognized with awards.
Poster Session
On February 9, the Deans’ Meeting was held, where participants exchanged views on the development of international collaborative research and the exchange of students and young researchers. Many expressed a strong desire for strengthened collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry, Niigata University.
Dean’s Meeting
Dean Prof. Makoto Inoue and Vice dean for International Affairs Prof. Hiroshi Ogawa also introduced Niigata University’s initiatives under the “Future-Leading and Advanced Graduate-schools (FLAGs)” project. The Niigata University Faculty of Dentistry expressed its intention to further enhance the educational and research environment and to strengthen international collaboration in order to attract outstanding international students from around the world.
