Our Research

The Division of Oral Biochemistry focuses on research topics not only in oral health but also in conditions involving other organs that are closely associated with oral function (including eating and drinking behaviors), such as the brain and guts.
Project 1: Determining the role of amino acid metabolism in neurological disorders
Project 2: Identifying the link between periodontitis and mental illness
Project 3: Examining the physiological role of kainate receptors
Project 4: Elucidating the sensing mechanisms in the gut using in vivo imaging techniques
Project 5: Discovery of novel therapeutic targets in oral cancer
Project 6: Identifying the role of inhibitory neurotransmitters in peripheral tissue homeostasis
